Why wall tiles are different from floor tiles

Designing with layout and light
Glossy wall tiles can reflect light and make smaller rooms feel larger. Textured or patterned tiles add interest, but they should be placed carefully so they do not overwhelm the room.
Tile orientation also changes the feel of a wall. Vertical placement can make walls feel taller, while horizontal lines can visually widen a narrow space.
Maintenance and coordination
Choose wall tiles with a finish that suits the amount of maintenance you want. Smooth surfaces are easier to wipe in kitchens and bathrooms, while highly textured decorative walls may need more attention.
Good wall tile planning also accounts for cabinetry, sanitary ware, mirrors, lighting, and paint colors so the tile supports the full room instead of competing with it.
