The calculator multiplies room length by room width to find the room area. It then converts tile dimensions from inches into square feet and estimates how many tiles are needed.
Waste percentage is added for cutting, breakage, and fitting around corners. Boxes required are rounded up because tiles are normally purchased in complete boxes.
